Silversea Wi-Fi: What's Included and When to Upgrade

Wi-Fi is included on every Silversea sailing, which is one of the small but meaningful ways the fare simplifies your cruise. The included tier handles everyday browsing, email, and messaging just fine. If you want to stream video or take work calls, you will need the paid streaming upgrade.
The basics
- Every suite includes Wi-Fi at no extra charge.
- Streaming is a paid upgrade, typically around $29 per day per person.
- One device login is usually active at a time per plan, though you can sign out and switch devices.
What the standard tier covers
The included Wi-Fi is designed for essentials: email, web browsing, messaging apps, social media, and light map or news checks. It is perfectly adequate for staying connected with home and sharing the occasional photo. It is not intended for HD streaming, large video calls, or uploading big files.
When to upgrade to streaming
Pay for the streaming upgrade if you plan to:
- Stream Netflix, Disney+, or live sports in your suite.
- Take regular Zoom or Teams calls.
- Upload large photo or video files while you travel.
At roughly $29 per day per person, the upgrade adds up on a long sailing. If you only need to check email and post photos, the included tier is genuinely fine.
A small tip on devices
Each plan covers one active device at a time, but you can sign out and switch devices freely. A couple sharing one plan can rotate a phone and a tablet — just not both at once. If you both want to be online simultaneously, you will want separate plans or the upgrade.
