Who Regent suits

Regent is an ideal choice for travelers looking for an all-inclusive luxury cruise. Once onboard, virtually everything is covered, including wine with dinner, specialty dining, some shore excursions, and laundry.

It is less of a fit for travelers who want a big production theater every night or a high-energy, late-night ship. Entertainment is pleasant rather than headline grabbing, and the evening winds down earlier than the mega ships.

What the fare covers

Air is available to purchase at prevailing rates.

While the included excursion program is broad, longer full-day tours, small-group tours, and tours that include meals are Regent Choice excursions carrying an added charge.

Suites and what changes as you move up

Every category is a suite, and apart from a small number of window-only suites on Seven Seas Navigator, every category has a balcony. Moving up buys square footage, a better location, and earlier access to reservations.

Butler service begins at the Penthouse categories. For the Regent Suite, Master Suites, Grand Suites, and Signature Suites guests enjoy guaranteed reservations each night in the specialty restaurant of their choosing. The Regent Suite only includes a private car and driver in every port of call.

Dining onboard

Compass Rose is the main dining room and the most flexible menu at sea, with a build-your-own protein and sauce section alongside the nightly menu. Prime 7 handles steakhouse night, Chartreuse is the French room, Pacific Rim covers Asian, and Sette Mari converts the buffet space into a relaxed Italian dinner. All of these restaurants are included in your cruise fare.

Book the specialty rooms as soon as your booking window opens. Loyalty tier and suite category both influence how early that window is, which is a practical reason to talk before you book rather than after.

Where Regent shines by itinerary

• Northern Europe and the British Isles, where port-heavy days benefit from included touring
• Japan and Asia, where private guiding is expensive to buy independently

Who Silversea suits

Travelers who want a calm, adult, internationally mixed ship and who value service in the suite over programming in the theater. On shorter, port-heavy sailings the evenings are quiet. On longer voyages with more sea days the entertainment is noticeably stronger, which is worth knowing before you pick a week.

It also suits anyone who wants one brand for both a classic Mediterranean cruise and an Antarctica or Galápagos expedition.

And if you hold status with Royal Caribbean or Celebrity, Silversea matches it through the Venetian Society. Your tier carries over, you keep earning points, and you can combine them across all three brands.

The two ocean fares

One important clarification. No shore excursions are included on Silversea ocean cruises under either fare. The Plus fare provides a credit toward tours, not the tours themselves. On expedition voyages the Plus fare is a different proposition, since it does include shore excursions, Zodiac tours, expert lectures, and flights.

The four suite categories

Silversea began accepting bookings under this four-category structure on September 16, 2026. Butler service, 24-hour in-suite dining, Wi-Fi, beverages, gratuities, port fees, taxes, and the applicable onboard dining choices continue across every category.

The Oceanview category does not include a balcony. For a scenic itinerary such as Norway or Alaska, moving into the Veranda category is usually money well spent.

• Oceanview: Panorama and Vista suites, both with large picture windows rather than private balconies
• Veranda: Premium Veranda, Deluxe Veranda, Superior Veranda, Classic Veranda, and Veranda suites, each with a private balcony
• Residence: Junior Grand, Signature, Silver, Premium Medallion, and Medallion suites, with separate bedroom and living areas
• Villa: Otium, Master, Owner's, Grand, and Royal suites, offering the largest interiors and terraces

Residence and Villa benefits from 2027

For sailings departing on or after January 1, 2027, Residence guests receive priority embarkation on Classic voyages. Their reservation windows also open earlier, at 210 days for spa appointments and 150 days for dining.

Villa guests receive those Residence benefits plus a broader level of pre-trip and onboard attention. On Classic voyages, this can include a private arrival transfer when airfare is booked through Silversea, early suite access, and a welcome escort. Villa guests also gain private planning time with culinary, wine, and spa leaders, selected in-suite dining and entertaining experiences, in-suite exercise equipment, and priority help from a Destination Expert before departure.

At selected Classic-voyage debarkation ports, Villa guests may remain onboard longer on the final day, with access to dining, beverages, public spaces, luggage storage, and Wi-Fi until the ship prepares for its next sailing. Availability depends on the port and voyage.

Dining

Most dining is part of the fare, including Atlantide, Indochine, Silver Note, and La Terrazza. Only La Dame and Kaiseki carry a per-cover charge, roughly one hundred dollars per person for La Dame and around eighty for Kaiseki, and those prices do change.

As of 2026, Atlantide and Kaiseki no longer open for lunch on port days, only the buffet and pool grill (The Grill) are open. Complimentary caviar remains available around the clock, in the suite and across the restaurants.

Expedition sailings

The expedition fleet reaches Antarctica, the Arctic, the Galápagos, and remote corners of Asia and the Pacific, with a team of naturalists onboard and Zodiac operations run to a high standard. Expedition voyages are where the Plus fare earns its premium, because flights and shore activity are included.

On expedition sailings departing on or after January 1, 2027, Villa guests receive three expedition-specific privileges: the option to join their preferred Zodiac departure group, priority access to a kayaking session, and a behind-the-scenes look at expedition operations with the onboard team. These are Villa benefits, not inclusions for every suite category.

Who Oceania suits

Travelers who care most about the food and the places visited. The ambience is country-club casual, the crowd is well traveled, and conversation at dinner tends to be about where everyone has been.

It is a strong choice for couples stepping up from premium lines, and for anyone looking for long itineraries with unique ports of call.

The culinary program

Specialty restaurants are included in the fare. On the larger Oceania ships, you can enjoy four different specialty dining options: Polo Grill, Toscana, Jacques and Red Ginger. The Culinary Center offers hands-on cooking classes for an added fee.

I’ve cooked in Oceania’s Culinary Center and eaten at nearly every venue across the fleet, and the real headline here is consistency. Maintaining the exact same standard of quality on night nine as on night one is notoriously difficult on a cruise ship, but they nail it every time.

Ships and cabins

• Mid-size ships carrying roughly 670 to 1,250 guests
• Newer ships are all veranda and suite. The entry level room is a French Balcony. Older ships have inside, ocean view, veranda and suites. 
• Quiet public rooms, a strong library, and no waterslides
• Ports that larger ships cannot get to

What the fare includes

Oceania’s Your World Included fare covers specialty dining, everyday Wi-Fi, onboard gratuities, and beer or wine during lunch and dinner. If you don't drink, you can swap the beverage package for a small shore excursion credit.

Who Explora suits

Travelers who find traditional luxury cruising a little formal. There are no fixed dining times, no black tie nights, and the interiors read more like a contemporary resort than a classic liner. It appeals strongly to guests in their forties and fifties who are new to the category.

If you want the familiar rituals of an established luxury line, a traditional main dining room and a long-tenured crew who know your name from prior sailings, one of the older names may serve you better today.

Suites and space

• Every accommodation is a suite with an ocean-facing terrace
• Contemporary interiors with walk-in wardrobes and generous bathrooms
• Multiple pools, including covered and open-air options
• Large wellness and thermal areas relative to ship size

Dining

The fleet spreads dining across multiple restaurants with no assigned seating, ranging from a Mediterranean room and an Asian venue to a European brasserie and a chef's table style experience. Most venues are part of the fare, with a small number of experiences priced separately.

Beverages, including a broad selection of wines and spirits, are included, as are gratuities and Wi-Fi.

Itineraries and pace

Explora leans toward longer port stays and a slower daily rhythm than mainstream lines, with strong Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Caribbean, and transatlantic programming. Because the fleet is young, itineraries change more from season to season than they do at the established lines, so it pays to look at the specific sailing rather than the brand as a whole.
