The short answer
Celebrity Flora is a 50-suite, all-suite yacht built specifically for the Galapagos, and it is the ship I sailed there in the largest penthouse. Fares are all-inclusive, covering naturalist-led excursions, drinks, gratuities, and Wi-Fi. Itineraries run 7 to 16 nights, and the archipelago is good year round, with warmer seas from December to May and richer wildlife activity from June to November.

- When is the best time to visit the Galapagos?
- Both seasons are good. December through May brings warmer air and calmer, warmer water, which suits snorkeling. June through November is cooler and choppier, with stronger currents that bring more marine activity and busier wildlife.
- How long should a Galapagos itinerary be?
- Seven nights covers the core islands comfortably. Ten nights or more reaches the outer islands and reduces the number of repeat landing sites. Plan an extra night in Quito or Guayaquil on each side.
- Why sail Celebrity Flora rather than a larger ship?
- Galapagos National Park caps visitor numbers per site, so smaller ships get more landings and less waiting. Flora carries 100 guests in 50 suites and was purpose-built for the archipelago, including a dynamic positioning system that avoids anchoring on the seabed.
- Is a Galapagos expedition all-inclusive?
- On Celebrity Flora, yes. Naturalist-led excursions, snorkeling, beverages, gratuities, and Wi-Fi are included in the fare. Flights to Ecuador and the Galapagos transfer package are handled separately and I arrange those as part of the booking.
