If you want the familiar rituals of an established luxury line, a traditional main dining room and a long-tenured crew who know your name from prior sailings, one of the older names may serve you better today.
Suites and space
Look at how much space is available per guest, including terraces, lounges, pools, and outdoor decks. A generous space-to-guest ratio means more room to spread out, not more people packed aboard. Compare the specific ship and suite rather than assuming every ship has identical measurements.

EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II each have six restaurants and 12 bars and lounges. In-suite dining is also available. Most dining is included; Anthology is available for an added charge.
Anthology dining, destination experiences (shore excursions), airfare, and spa treatments are additional costs. Confirm any other premium selections or optional services before booking, and check shuttle availability at each port.

The onboard fare covers most dining, a broad selection of drinks, Wi-Fi, gratuities, thermal-area access, and fitness and wellbeing programs. A welcome bottle of champagne and an in-suite spirit of your choice are also included. Port-to-city shuttle services are available where offered.

Itineraries and pace
Explora leans toward longer port stays and a slower daily rhythm than mainstream lines, with strong Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Caribbean, and transatlantic programming. Because the fleet is young, itineraries change more from season to season than they do at the established lines, so it pays to look at the specific sailing rather than the brand as a whole.
Families and the Nautilus Club
Explora Journeys is a family-owned company and welcomes families onboard.
The Nautilus Club is a dedicated space for guests aged 6 to 17, with a game room that includes Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and VR consoles, a pool table, and foosball. Nautilus Club hosts are certified according to CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) policies and standards on youth activities. Children aged 3 to 5 are welcome at specific intervals for age-appropriate activities, when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Explora welcomes multigenerational families with 82 interconnecting suites across Ocean Suite, Ocean Penthouse, and Ocean Residence categories, the Nautilus Club for guests aged 6 to 17, and destination experiences curated for families. Children aged 2 to 17 benefit from savings of up to 50%, infants aged 6 to 23 months sail free and adults traveling as third or fourth guests in the same suite save up to 25%.
